WIW 10.23.13 - Minimal & Dark for Me

This outfit bossed me around instead of the other way. I *tried* to make it more lively with accessories and other colors, but it refused. I gave in.

Jacket: Classiques Entier (an orphan...trying to wear it more)
Skirt: Halogen seamed pencil skirt
Tights: leopard print semi-sheer from Target
Boots: Munro
Turtleneck - ??

Love the blazer! I think this looks nice, it is tonal but not boring.

Ooh I like it. I think the leopard tights add just the right amount of sass.

I really don't think you need to add color here to make the outfit more "lively". You already have a lot of interest and texture going on with the leopard print hose and the unique blazer details. Looks great just as is. Not the least bit boring.

I second Anna. The laopard print tights do indeed add some sass!

I would like it with a gold necklace, but I am a magpie!

This is lovely on you, Amy. It might be one of my favourites on you ever! The tights add a bit of fun and the minimalism is to my taste anyway, so there you go!

Love it too....especially with the tights and your lovely hair!

I think I agree with you, Amy. It's a classy, well-proportioned outfit composed of beautiful items and the fun tights for interest. BUT, your fair skin and warm-toned hair don't glow in this picture - they're overpowered. I think a lower neck-lined top might put you back in charge. Another thought, do you have a tortoise shell jewelry piece? Something delicate that doesn't destroy the minimalist modernity and go all 80's on you?

My first thought was a top with a different neckline? I love the individual pieces - leopard tights! - and low contrast between them.

I think this is a fantastic outfit Amy. The jacket is just beautiful on - both in fit and color - and the hose give visual interest to the outfit. And you know I love booties with a skirt :)

I would wear this... It's the strong simple look. Love the colors and minimalism. You are in control!

Amy this is an amazing outfit.  The column of black and the patterned stocking are subtle and alluring.  I love, love, love the jacket on you.  It highlights your wonderful figure.  But like the best of outfits, I don't really see the outfit at all, I see you.  It's the Coco Chanel quote "dress shabbily they notice the dress, dress inpecibally they notice the woman."  Really well done.

Gryffin, you're my new best friend, lol. You sure know how to make a person feel good.

Thanks ladies! I also appreciated the comments about the neckline/colors. Food for thought.

I really like the blazer and I like how keeping the rest of the outfit simple allows the blazer to shine.

  • kellygirl replied 10 years ago

Nothing wrong with this. The jacket color is gorgeous on you and the zips add some bling. Pattered hose make it more interesting too. This is a great outfit!

Amy - I only say what's true!!  Enjoy your day.  You really look wonderful!

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

I love it.  You look great in this.  It's professional but also modern and stylish.
