WIW - new blouse & jacket

This outfit was one of those that I felt good in until I saw the photograph. The proportions are bothering me. Oh well. I love the colors and am thrilled with the blouse I found at the swap!

I'm also wearing the Eliza J jacket I bought recently. I exchanged it for a small and it fits much better in the shoulders.

At work, I wore my white and grey snakeskin pumps which provided some nice bookending, but I forgot to bring them home with me.

I'm sure a hair cut would do my self-esteem wonders. I've had a hard time making it into the salon!

I think you look fab! That is an amazing blouse, indeed! And I love the metallic bag with this outfit!

I love the blouse! Great colors and it's awesome with the navy slacks, white jacket and metallic bag! If long legs can be considered a problem, I think that's where the proportions are off. Are the trousers high waisted? You could untuck the blouse and either wear it loose or belt it with a low contrast belt that kind of blends in. It's a great outfit, it just needs a little tweak! :)

No, the trousers aren't high-waisted, lol. That's just me. Thank you, though :)

The jacket looks great. I also have a hard time seeing mile long legs as a proportion problem, but if that is what is bothering you in the picture, it might be the camera angle.

I think I am high-waisted too, because this is how I feel when I tuck, and I'm probably as tall as one of your legs. :) I think you look great, actually - it's just a different look. It reminds me of some of Sveta's trouser outfits, and both of you have such great legs!

I love this outfit Ms. Legs!

I feel a strange sort of kinship with this "high bird."

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

    *shaking head*

And you seem to think that is somehow a bad thing...

    *sigh*

Are these wide leg trousers, Amy? If so you can try a shorter jacket with this tucked in blouse - I usually wear shorter jackets with wide legs. Also you can try to add a contrast belt...however I think this is a very nice outfit as is and I can imagine it being even better with snake pumps! :-) The colors are gorgeous!

Wow. You really have fabulously long legs Amy. I really like the outfit too and think the top and jacket would look great with jeans too. The colors are all really nice on you.

The blouse looks fantastic with the new blazer and I bet that the snakeskin pumps were amazing too. This is a great look!

I have to say you're being a bit hard on yourself. You look terrific!

I think you need a belt...maybe in a contrast color? Do these pants have belt loops? This outfit forumla is my absolute favorite these days, and I love it on you. I don't think the proportions are bad at all, as long as the pants skim the floor.

Amy I don't think there is anything wrong with the proportions here at all. The only thing I would add is a slim belt. Otherwise perfection!

  • lyn67 replied 11 years ago

Yes, a belt! (what if not that slim, but wider, too-so will change proportions a bit-if wanted!)
I am really amazed how you managed to pull together this outfit with the silver bag. Love!

    I think you look gorgeous!

I think this looks great. I'm betting in real life in motion you looked amazing. I think the photo flattens the pants into one shape while there are dimensions not being seen.

Amy you look lovely and polished. Where did you buy the jacket?

  • marianna replied 11 years ago

    You look amazing!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

And bless you for sporting PPL's!!!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Aww, you ladies are so nice!

Meredith, this is the Eliza J Ruched sleeve jacket at Nordies.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

I think you look magnificent Amy! The colours in the blouse are beautiful on you, the jacket fits like a dream, and those wide legged trousers (with seriously good PPL) are divine! As someone from the "Stumpy Leg Club", I covet your long legs! Never look at them as any sort of negative - you're beautiful!

    Beautiful outfit, you are Ms. Legs indeed! I think a skinny white belt could help the proportions, or possibly leaving the shirt untucked. You could also try a more cropped jacket to make the long legs stand out even more :}
