WIW 10.4.13 - Floral Blazer

Casual Friday! Yay!

Blazer: Asos
T-shirt: Halogen
Necklace: Target
Jeans: NYDJ (frumpy?)

NEW SHOES!!! Another pair of Crown Vintage shoes that I just love...laceless pointy-toed oxfords in grey. Note the bookending :) I'll have to post a close up of them later.

A note on color issues: there is actually quite a bit of the bright purple in the jacket that echos the t-shirt. I do not understand why it's not showing up in the photo...perhaps the camera flash washed that out?

Oooh did you ever make the cropped pants to match the jacket? Love the colours on you.

    Love the shoes.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

Nope, I just tossed the pants. They weren't working for me, with or without hemming. Thanks, Ceit!

Well, it was worth the experiment to try them!

I can see the purple in the jacket (since you pointed it out).  I think we often look better IRL than in photos and unfortunately it is believed by many to be the other way around.
This is my kind of look, being matchy-matchy as I am.  I love the lavender tee picking up the lavender in the blazer and the same with the blazer/boots.  I don't see any frump.

Argh. The flash can be a menace. You look fresh and fun, Amy! And the shoes sound great.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

No frump to seen, and I love the bookending!

  • AviaMariah replied 10 years ago

I love this look and I loving those shoes.  Great bookending!

Amy, so lovely you're posting more.

I love this, especially the bookending :-D

This is another combination I am inspired try - dark bootcuts (really struggling with mine at the moment), purple top, jacket. Just great.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

    Thank you, everyone!

  • catgirl replied 10 years ago

Really pretty! Can't see the purple on my phone but I believe you. :)

  • annagybe replied 10 years ago

Nice! You look good in purple.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Yummy jacket!  This look is fresh to my eye, the bootcuts are a classic base for the outfit, and they're a flattering cut for you.

    Happy weekend!

Very pretty! You look lovely in that purple and I love that the jacket just references it, but isn't too purple. It keeps the jacket from being too sweet. It looks gorgeous, not cloying.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

I see the purple in the jacket just fine I love the moody feel of it contrasted with the purple. The jeans ground the look  with regard to color. I think the looser fit at the hips is what makes you feel a bit frumpy. I think 1 wash would take care of that.

  • catherine replied 10 years ago

    Love it.  Not any frump.

  • MsLuna replied 10 years ago

    Love the look, Amy!

The jeans: I can see the frump concern. I think it's a touch too large. As Day Vies says, one wash may just de-frump the fit!

  • Liz A. replied 10 years ago

I'm also wondering about the jeans. Are they ppl?

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

Amy, I am so happy you are posting again!
Floral blazer is fun. I don't have many floral patterns I like but this one is quite nice.
I like your oxfords. I am looking for refined oxfords as well to replace my Trouve ones which look worse for the wear now...no luck so far but my size is a beast to shop for :-(  Lovely color on yours: are they grey? They are going to be quite versatile for you.

Love the blazer and the proportions of the outfit.  Such awesome shoes!

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

    Thanks ladies!

Liz, you are right. They are on the short side. These jeans were the best fit I could find in brick and mortar stores. Next time, I'll take a gamble and shop online for tall sizes.

Nice to see you back, Amy, I missed your posts!
Love this jacket on you, you styled it to perfection for a (is this your casual??:-)) workday.

  • No Fear of Fashion replied 10 years ago

Ever so nice. Great outfit. And I know what you mean by the colours changing when you take a picture. So annoying. I have that with my Kermit green jacket.
As for the jeans, have you ever tried skinnies? I find that nearly all jackets and outfits defrump with skinnies.

Thanks! No Fear, I have tried skinnies...unfortunately, I haven't found any that fit quite right and are comfy. I'm keeping an eye out.

  • rachylou replied 10 years ago

    Fabulous jacket!

I do kinda, sorta think the jeans are frumpy... don't hate me!

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

Hahah, no, I don't hate you. Thanks for your honesty, rachylou.

Great casual outfit! But sorry to disappoint you, your hair does not visibly bookend the new shoes ... however there are are solutions I am sure your stylist can recommend.  :-)
