...or, Whatever Happened to Jump in My Hands in the Dark When I was getting Dressed...

Gap Jacket - I'm not sure why I keep buying things that are this particular shade of red. It's a challenging color to wear. It does make me feel awake on a dreary Seattle day, so that's a plus!

Striped t-shirt from H&M
NYDJ straight leg jeans
Vince Camuto Booties
Chunky faux turquoise and silver necklace

Amy, I think you look stunning in this shade of red. I love how you've used the turquoise necklace in this look - would never have thought of that myself.

Really like this look. Casual, but put together and happy (that red is great on you!). Also love the leopard print shoes...perfect "surpsise" element. Very nice!

Well, I think this red looks great on you! Love it with the stripes and the leopard shoe.

Interesting, Amy. In the pics, you look great in this red! Do you think a different red would look better, or is it just bright red in general that feels challenging?

This is a great outfit on you! Love the booties with the red.

Amy, I had the same question as Suz. This shade of red is so flattering on you, why wouldn't you want to duplicate it? And, I agree with Kimlee - the turquoise necklace is great with this combo; would not have thought of it myself, but I sure am going to duplicate!

    Thanks, ladies.

Suz, I think the red looks fine on me, but it's such a strong color that I feel like I need to wear makeup with it so I don't look washed out. Also, the red is so bright that it reflects on my face making it pinker than normal :)

You look fab in this shade of red Amy and I love the jacket with stripes. I have this same Gap jacket and now you've inspired to try it in a new and fresh way!

Great CF outfit, Amy, and I like red on you. Your pattern mixing is the right touch, too, and I can totally agree with you about certain colors "requiring" additional makeup. Sometimes it's the darker shades, for me, where I feel I need to amp up some color on my face, either with my cheeks and/or lips (usually both!).

You are a genius. Red jacket with turquoise accessories. Voila, magic happens.
I love this color on you.

Amy, YLF! Even I've recently purchased a red blazer and only managed to wearing twice. This particular shade of red can be a little challenging to style but you've done a great job here.

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

I wish I could wear this shade of red as well as you do ...
Seems your things are very well trained because whatever jumped on you in the dark looks darn good together :)

Great combo - and fantastic photo. Wish I looked so cheery first thing in the morning!
I think I have the same striped t shirt from H&M. I've had mine for almost a year - goes with everything and seems indestructible.

I'm with the others Amy. This red seems incredibly flattering on your skintone in the picture. It looks really fun with the turquoise necklace as well. And the striped T, well that just goes without saying. If I were to make a fashion "must have list" a striped top would definitely be on it!

You slapped this together in the dark? It's awesome. I love the red and turquoise together.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Thanks, ladies, you really made my day!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

It works but I get what you say about red. I gave away my one red shirt a few years ago because I just found too hard to wear.

  • Debbie replied 11 years ago

Love you in the red. Aperfect color for a dreary day!
You look great head to toe!

I am another fan of this outfit -- would not have thought of either the turquoise necklace or leopard booties and they are what takes this to fab territory!

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

This outfit needs to come out of the dark more often, Amy! I love your hand with details, here in the booties and necklace. I'm making peace with the fact that I'll never be a minimalist, but I'm always looking for ideas on how to strike the right balance, and you do that beautifully here. l

I here you about the bossiness of some colors, but a Diva can be a Diva as long as she delivers on stage, and this jacket is delivering for you!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

haha...the jacket can't be the diva. I reserve that title for myself, lol :)

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

This red loves you, Amy, loves you!
