WIW 11.18.13 - weekend & back to work

The weather has turned recently and it's been pretty cold out, so I bought a bunch of sweaters. My husband's reaction to the pink cat one was predictable: "OH GAWD." hahaha :) I'm wearing it regardless if it's too twee or young or not serious enough for work because I need an emotional pick me up today. It's either the cat sweater or a bunch of drugs. (Seasonal Affective Disorder is striking once again.) This seems healthier.

White Shirt: Brooks Bros.
Cat Sweater: from Nordie's
Skirt: Halogen
Shoes: Crown Vintage (need to replace these with something similar. They're almost worn out)

Outfit #2 is what I wore to hang out with some friends on Saturday. Cozy and uncomplicated.

Sweater: H&M
Jeans: Gap always skinny
Boots: from DSW

Well, I love both of these! That cat sweater is adorable. Love it! And the H&M sweater looks super cozy and comfortable. Lovely drape on it, too. What is it made of?

The kitty sweater is fun and a great pick me up color too - I hope it did the trick! And 2 is just perfect.

Your first outfit is so much fun!  The black/white oxfords are brilliant with it.
The second looks classic and cozy.  I love it on you.  Thank you for posting these.

I love 2!!  The boots are just luscious and the color combo, classic yet stunning!  The kitty sweater is cute and the oxfords killer!

The cat sweater is fun and cute on you, and hey, it beats drugs for sure!
I keep telling myself- just one more month and the days start getting longer again!

Love your casual outfit! Just perfect!

I LOVE the cat sweater!  And that color is phenomenal on you.

The cat sweater is fun! I really love the second outfit, it's casual and uncomplicated but so fab.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

    Thanks, ladies!

The kitty sweater is purrrrfect with the shoes! How'd you think of that? I haven't used my kitty sweater enough yet, you've reminded me to get it out and ride the trend.

Love the cat sweater outfit! It's so much fun. Weekend look is great, may have to copy that.

Love mee-aw:-) a kitty on  a peachy background, 100x better than drugs! Chunky white one is also looking cozy! Good job, Amy:-)

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

Love the shoes with the first outfit, and that sweater is purrfect for a gray rainy day like today.  #2 is my favorite kind of hanging out outfit!

  • LACeleste replied 10 years ago

You look so good Amy!  The pink cat sweater makes you glow and the white sweater looks so good with the boots!  Hope the sun shines for you.

Love 2 -- right after my own heart. Your cat sweater is really fun too.

  • Aquamarine replied 10 years ago

Both outfits are great but I LOVE the weekend one. I am so used to seeing your work outfits, but you also do casual very well!

  • Emily replied 10 years ago

Both the cat sweater and your totes-lookin'-fierce-wearing-a-cat-sweater pose are too much fun!  Very nice.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

THE CAT SWEATER :) Love it!

And like Anna, I'm going to have to copy your weekend look. Fabulous!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

YLF in both of these :)

  • carter replied 10 years ago

I love both.  Everyone needs to project a little attitude some days, and the kitty does it.  Also love the whole look of #2...effortlessly casual classic.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

    Thank you :)

I have never ever had as many comments on an article of clothing as I've had with this cat sweater. Strangers have stopped me on the street to tell me they liked it, lol. Cats are fab.

  • Shirley replied 10 years ago

Love that cat sweater, especially the color.

  • E replied 10 years ago

Oh I love that cat sweater & how you styled it! And clearly everyone else does too: that's so fun that strangers are telling you how much they like it. :D

MEOW. We are sweater twins (not the cat) but I got the H&M one in Ink Blue. I'm debating going back for the cream too to replace last year's favorite Gap one that is a pilling disaster.

Suz it's this one and it feels like a nice midweight cotton, no fuzzies at all

20% nylon, 25% rayon, 50% cotton, 5% angora. Machine wash cold

Not to be confused with this one that was too fuzzy and the sleeves were already stretched out at the store

#1 is Killer. You have the personality to pull off that look 100%, Amy. You have a quirky side and a great sense of humour. Plus you cleverly added in the chic. Thumbs up all the way. (Sorry Mr. Amy, but I am siding with your wife).

#2 is an 11 out of 10. Simple and on trend.

  • Sveta replied 10 years ago

I think the cat sweater is adorable on you - and men have no idea!:-)
Love the shoes and hope you can find a replacement.
Your weekend outfit is great too, very cozy and comfortable.

  • Amy replied 10 years ago

    Thank you so much!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

Your expression in #1 says it all!  Love the energy and fun of the look in a stylish, classy silhouette.  #2 really plays up your could-they-possibly-be-longer legs.

  • DonnaF replied 10 years ago

That cat sweater has been on my Wish List, but I go back and forth on whether it is too sweet for me such that I wouldn't wear it.  Is the rose color a cool pink or does it skew more toward coral?

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Both look brilliant Amy.  Not everyone (read me) could carry off that cat sweater.  How did your colleague's respond to it?
