WIW 01/29/13 - What's black and blue all over?

Me! This outfit was inspired by the black, blue and white formula Angie posted yesterday.

Blue Jacket - from White House Black Market
White Turtleneck - Gap
Black Skirt - Halogen

Any suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

Also, how do you feel about the white turtleneck? I recall some negative comments about white turtlenecks on Angie's post regarding an outfit sported by Ines and am now a bit paranoid about wearing this.

Fabulous outfit! I think the white turtleneck works beautifully with this jacket and I love the booties!

I don't have a problem with the turtleneck either. You look polished and professional. Big success in my book!

Looks great! Is that the same jacket goldenpig (Natalie) has? It's beautiful!

I like the t-neck with this a lot.

    Perfect interpretation of Angie's formula!

Gorgeous! So nicely balanced and well-fitting.

Gorgeous and love your booties with this! That jacket is a beautiful color on you.

Okay, Angie is not here. Can I have permission to say the K-word????

    GORGEOUS, Amy.

I love the white turtleneck. I think there was some distaste for Ines's version had to do with proportions there and the way it was working (or not, to some people's taste) with her white trousers.

Every time I see you in this jacket I want it. It's a bit "dandy" for an urban prince, but I have that streak in me, too. You look like a modern beau in this...

Very sleek and polished! I like the silhouette. That jacket needs a very simple base imho to show off it's lines so the tneck is good choice in the winter.

Amy, you look amazing! Perfect interpretation of Angie's formula. The white turtleneck looks very equestrian with the jacket--posh eclectic for sure. Actually, we are twins today as I am wearing my WHBM jacket as well, with black skirt and black booties too! I'll post my pics when I get home. How fun--high five ink blue jacket twin!

It all works for me (well on you...)

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Haha, that's awesome, GP! I can't wait to see your version. Great minds...

    Thanks, ladies!

ETA - Suz, I like the dandy's clothes, I'm not so keen on his hair, lol.

Amy, I know we had talked before about doing a twin day together--how fun that we did one unintentionally, inspired by Angie!

Another beautiful jacket, Amy. You have the best! The uncomplicated turtleneck really lets the jacket sing.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

No, his hair is a bit unfortunate, isn't it? But he's still fab in my books.

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

This jacket is perfect for your style, and this is a great version of Angie's formula, too!

I like the white T-neck. They're greating for adding a little light to the face and this one lets the jacket shine!

    You look amazing.

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

Great matching Suz, Amy is a dandy today! And I, for one, love a dandy! Awesome jacket!

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

The turtleneck looks great on you imo. Love the outfit.

  • nancylee replied 11 years ago

Fabulous...and such a perfect "Amy" outfit. This just looks right for you.

  • DonnaF replied 11 years ago

The turtleneck is perfect with that jacket! A blouse or shirt would compete. Also love the booties which make it more interesting than pumps.

  • Mochi replied 11 years ago

That turtleneck looks great on you and in this ensemble. Amy, I don't think you can do any wrong with your style these days. It's so well-put-together and so you. It's funny, I recognize that jacket from Natalie and liked it immediately. The ways you both wear it are so different and so individualistic.

Another KILLER look for the Kingdom of Posh Eclectic!

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

I wouldn't wear it, but I love it on you. :0

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Love! I just posted a picture of myself in a white turtleneck with the same concern (unstated). But your turtleneck is the one I want. You look terrific!

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

The turtle looks great on you and seems perfect in its simplicity to show off your wonderful jacket with its interesting details. I wouldn't change a thing '

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

The cut of this jacket with this silhouette is just perfect, Amy. One of my faves that you've posted.

  • goldenpig replied 11 years ago

Amy, I finally posted my twin outfit:

So fun that we could be twins for a day!

I LOVE the turtleneck! Here's an idea, wear your high/tight long sleeved turtleneck with a pencil skirt, blazer, cuffed white bobbysocks over your hose and sneakers (Working Girl)
