WIW - Volume on Volume

I think this outfit looks better in person than it does in these photos. I could be delusional, though.

The colors of the sweater and the trousers definitely are more harmonious. The flash did strange things to the color of the sweater.

What do you think? Is this slouchy in a good way or slouchy in a sloppy way?

KILLER. So very *now* and what's on the runways.

I have to run, so my comment is short and to the point!

I love it on you, Amy. I'd say slouchy in a very good way! Are these new pieces for you?

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    Thank you, Angie and Suz!

Suz, just the sweater is new.

I like how the pants play well with the sweater (which looks awesome on you). For an even slouchier look, I'd like to see how it would look with a longer shirt under the sweater!

Love your shoes. I need some.

Love it all - is it blue?

Love this on you. I think volume is even better IRL -- something about the movement and ease that makes the wearer feel and look so free and comfortable.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    Thanks everyone.

Caro - yes, it's all navy

I love those shoes! But I think I do not have the right pants to wear them with (maybe I should buy both things???)

Oooh, I like this! I think the excellent fit of the trousers and button down keep it from being slouchy-sloppy.

Amy more love from me. I think this is a great look. I have worn something similar with bootcut jeans. I find this modern and fashion forward and interesting. Do you think it might be time to invest in a longer fitted white button down. From this and your previous post I think it's would become quite a workhorse.

So many great details - shoes peeking out, lace back, great colors on you! Love!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    Thanks ladies!

Deborah - you might be right about the longer blouse. I'm going to keep an eye out :)

A tonal look, crisp white shirt AND volume on volume = all things I love, and you are doing them brilliantly here, Amy! I love this outfit on you.

LOVE THE SHOES! The lace surprise on the back is nice too.

What a fantastic sweater! Such a great look on you!

This sweater is too fab on you. I sooo want to copy this look. The shoes are nice too.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

I should have bought another pair of these shoes :) What will I do when they wear out? It makes me weepy just thinking about it.

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

Amy, where did you get these shoes?

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

They are Crown Vintage Oxfords. I bought them at DSW last year.

    aaaiiiieeeeeeEEE!!!!!

Gorgeous and Perfect!! love the silhouette, love the drape, love the peekaboo crochet/knit, lovelovelove the blue with your coloring.....

"I think this outfit looks better in person than it does in these photos." In my experience, this is eggz-acktly the type of outfit that DOES look better in person than in pics. Lots of drapey volume, in a nutshell, tends to flatten/fatten out in a still but IRL your brain 'models' the body underneath as revealed by various clinging bits.

Very Happy you didn't get carried away by the pix looking not as fab as in real life. really beautiful and very now, i would love to see you twirl a bit in this in a video :) steph
