WIW - Miami Vice

My husband thinks my Eliza J jacket belongs on the set of Miami Vice.

Cool.

I'm also wearing an Ann Taylor blouse and Lafayette 148 pants, which seem to be worth every penny I spent on them (and that was quite a few). Finally, pants that are comfy off the rack!

Pants that are comfy off the rack EXIST? Wow, what a score! ;)

Love the jacket and the colors in that blouse on you, and I spy a SUPER awesome pair of two toned oxfords peeking out through the grass!

Awesome outfit! I am also a big fan of those oxfords. Hubby is hilarious :)

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

FABULOUS. Can you duplicate the trousers?

Much better than Miami Vice. Hubs is a scream.

Oh, I'm so happy you found some well-fitting trousers! I'm sure you will work the CPW down to nothing. I love your Miami Vice look, except on you it's Miami Nice! Beautiful blouse, but the coup de gras are those two-toned oxfords; thanks for kicking a heel so we could see them. They really take this outfit to the next level!

Looks fab Amy! I get that comment when I wear my white blazer too, from hubby and from friends. Those pants look great on you!

Wow - this is fantastic from your Miami Vice jacket down to your two-tone oxfords! Agree with Angie - you need to duplicate these pants. They look fab on you!

  • nancylee replied 11 years ago

Your jacket has it all over the Miami Vice one! And I love your new happy profile pic.

Jacket great, pants great, shoes great, Miami Vice illustrated reference - great!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

LOVE this outfit on you, Amy. It's absolutely stunning.

Don Johnson's jackets were far longer and were shapeless. Your version is much better.

You look amazing! I love that white blazer!
May I inquire? Which style of AT pants did you buy? I just received a pair of their "modern fit" pants but I'm not so sure, they look a tad saggy....

  • velvetychocolate replied 11 years ago

I must admit, you made me smile at the "Miami Vice" reference :)

Thing is, your white jacket is so much better. Love it on you and love the outfit. Very fab!

eta: can't resist - here's some Miami Vice music on YouTube:

Love this! Wonderful color and contrast! The flash of white in the oxfords echoes the jacket beautifully!

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Thanks everyone! I enjoyed this outfit today, particularly because I had visions of running around Miami dancing through my head.

Zapotee, these aren't AT trousers. They are Lafayette 148 Menswear trousers, which you can order from Nordstroms. The thing is, AT Modern Trousers are way too tight and straight for my figure, so if the AT's are saggy, then I don't imagine these would be better.

You might try the Columnists from Express if you'd prefer a closer fit.

Amy I would never have thought of Miami Vice! Hubby is too funny. I like this outfit. The pants look to be a wonderful fit and the shoes are fab.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

    haha, VC, that's awesome.

OMG, even my hair looks like Don Johnson's right now.

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

He had the baggy white pants and loafers with no socks though and you are in elegant trousers and adorable oxfords. I like how the blouse brings it all together

One of my first "dates" with my DH was to watch Miami Vice with his roomies at their apartment, Hilarious.

Oh, I love this, it is so polished but looks confy and comfident, Amy! Congrats on the trousers, the really fit you the best! I have one similar Miami Vice blazer:-)and kind of blouse to pair with but don't have the perfect fit trousers and two tonned shoes which make the outfit (yet)...Your Hubby is so funny!:-)

That green blouse is so cute. The white jacket is all you need to complete the look. So chic.
Comfortable, chic, stylish, fitting trousers in black that too off the rack? Unbelievable. You got a treasure here fulfilling all the criteria of fashion.

I love the vibe the outfit gives. Chic, casual, sporty, work appropriate all in one outfit. And I love the front layers of your hair.

    Beautiful lady.

Great outfit and not Vice at all. Hurray for good pants. Worth every penny once you find them.

You look so great! Funny hubby.

Gorgeous! I love that your whole outfit is beautiful and feminine and then, zing!, there are those fabulous menswear inspired oxfords. Beautiful.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Love love love! You are such a lucky gal to have scored the perfect trousers. And tell your Hubs that I would have stolen that white jacket and worn it today if I could! It adds a fresh, summery vibe to your other pieces - awesome with the two-tone shoes.

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

You look wonderful! Sweet shoes and I really like the print on the blouse. Way to go on finding pants that fit great.
