WIW - It's Hard Dressing in the Wee Hours of the Morning

Whatever panache/fashion creativity I may have possessed seems to be slipping away the earlier I get up for work. I'm just desperate to get clothes on so I can rush out the door and catch my bus.

I tried hard this morning, but look very rumpled. *sigh*

So, why am I posting this? Well, just because I missed you gals and wanted to prove I'm still alive, lol :)

I bought a few new things on my lunch break and can't wait to show you though.

    You look good though!

I think you look great and I love the blouse and the scarf colors together! I would wear this in a heartbeat!
btw, I have to get up superearly to catch the bus to work(well, I walk part of the way and then catch the bus) so I usually think about what I am going to wear the night before and lay everything out-I mean everything-jewelery, any other accesories, and even the lipstick color I chose. I also make my lunch the night before and put it in the ziplock baggy, set up coffee maker so all I have to do in the morning is to hit a button. I am not a morning person so there is no way I am going to be coherent at 5 am, espesially if I have to put an outfit together

You work well under pressure! Stunning outfit! How is the new job working out?

A few FFBO's might help out too :)

You look great! you might also try that scarf cravat style and tucked in so it doesn't compete with the belt. Those colors are lovely on you. I know - sometimes the creative juices seem REALLY far away in the wee hours. Once I got to work with two different colored socks on after trying to get dressed without waking up DH.

I think you look fabulous! I love the scarf and the blue top.

Well, you look pretty darn amazing for someone who feels like creativity is lacking! This is a great outfit and you don't look rumpled at all! That pop of color in the scarf is really great on you. Can't wait to see what you found at lunch! You're in downtown Seattle, right?

  • Jaime replied 12 years ago

Great colors and your legs look a mile long. Your rumpled is my polished!

  • Alecia replied 12 years ago

I haven't the foggiest what you're talking about. I LOVE this outfit. Wow. I look at this and don't see rumpled, I think sharp.

  • Makrame replied 12 years ago

You still look great, no matter how hectic your morning might have been. Love the colors of your shirt and scarf.

  • Suz replied 12 years ago

Wow, Amy, this is super on you! Love the colours! You look fun, fresh, and funky..yet professional.

We miss you as much as you miss us!!!

  • ManidipaM replied 12 years ago

Good grief, but you look FANTASTIC! So polished and chic and colourful --- where's this lacking creativity of which you speak??

Seriously. You look gorgeous. Smashing. I can't imagine doing anything as smart in 5 hours' time to play with clothes (not that I'm any standard to compare against, just sayin'...). Give yourself credit where it's due!

Well if that's rumpled Amy, then I'll take some of that! You look great! Love the colour of the blouse on you. And you'd better show us your new stuff soon...I'm not a patient woman!

BTW - miss you! Hope you're doing well.

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

    Thanks ladies!

    Angie, what an FFBO?

My new job is really, really great. I'm very happy! Thanks for asking.

FFBO - Fast Fallback Outfit (I think)

  • Sara L. replied 12 years ago

I think you look great! I love the colorful scarf. I get up really early too (alarm goes off at 5:30 so I can be at work by 7). I usually set out all my clothes the night before. I started doing it because my husband doesn't get up until later and I felt bad banging around and turning on lights while he was trying to sleep. But now I've found that it helps with my creativity (or lack thereof) to figure out what I'm going to wear the night before when I'm not so groggy.

Nothing rumpled on my screen, Amy, This outfit is simple and strong.
Happy to hear you like your new job.

  • Beth Ann replied 12 years ago

This carries your classic signature -- strong and unique use of color! And your trousers are amazing! Nice to see you again!

  • Freckles replied 12 years ago

Amy if this is your rumpled I would take it any day. Fabulous combination, glad to hear the job is going well.

  • Aida replied 12 years ago

This looks fab Amy! I love the dark blue with the black trousers, and your scarf's colors are gorgeous (and brighten the outfit up nicely). Setting out clothes the night before would certainly work, or maybe coming up with a couple outfits at the start of the week that you can wear if you don't think of something in the morning.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

You look splendid! If this is you looking rumpled then there is no hope for such as I with my tendency to look like an unmade bed if I don't put some effort into it. I love all of your outfit posts and am so glad you are checking back in and posting.

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

Fantastic look even if you don't feel it so much. We've missed your posts. I concur with Sara L on putting outfit together the night before. I do this and it saves a ton of time in the morning and really ups the creativity.

  • rae replied 12 years ago

You look great, Amy! I used to have to *be* at work at 6:30am, so I know what you are talking about - you do way better than me getting dressed in a flash. I gave up and started planning ahead. Love the colors in that scarf, lady!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

I think you look wonderful - very chic and pulled together! :)

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

Thanks ladies! You're right. I should probably be doing more of this at night. I've still got to learn to manage my time better :)

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

FFBO = Fast Fall Back Outfit

Glad that the new job is working out.

  • Sunita replied 12 years ago

That's rumpled?! No way...you look very sharp and pulled together!

Maybe you can try planning your outfit the night before and have it all ready to grab in the morning? I know it's hard; I keep telling myself to do it too....but end up falling into bed and zonking out every night.

Looking good! Very sophisticated with a creative edge.
