WIW - 10.10.13 - Tweed & Plaid

The one outfit I didn't feel all that good in this week was when I wore trousers. To increase my happiness factor today, I decided it was necessary to don a dress.

Dress: self-made (I'm proud of my plaid matching)
Black Turtleneck
Tweed Jacket: Lafayette 148
Booties: Kelly & Katie

Since our weather is in transition, I'll probably wear all three combinations at some point today. I hope it works!

Thanks, as always, for you feedback.

Ooh, this looks lovely. You did an awesome job on the dress, and I love the plaid with the tweed.

Oh, my. I love, love, love it! I wish I could wear that exact outfit.

Love the colors!  Just fab outfit!

Smashing!  Love the multiple gray tones with the berry/pink. I want something just like it! Incredible workmanship you have done--you just can't get that in the store. Lots of times I'll pass on plaid items because the pattern matching is poor.

This is so "Amy" -- it just makes me smile. What a fun jacket (do I see a version of fuchsia???) and how original to pair it with the plaid. You look great.

    Ooh - Love it!

Oh, Amy, this is beautiful and if you were in the dress-sewing business, I'd order one in an instant from you. There's something about plaid that is just right for autumn and it always makes me feel good. Adding your pretty jacket, gives it another flattering look and THAT pose in #3 with your hand on your hip is the best!

    Adorbs!

This plaid fits sooo beautifully. And you made it! Omg, you sew beautifully!

Oh-h-h-h!  I want to see the back, too, so I can gasp in awe.  In addition to matching it perfectly, you laid out the pattern perfectly.  Amazing, especially as a parent (right?) who has to find the time and focus to do such stuff.  I hope the quality of the fabric is up there with your stellar skills.

    Thanks everyone :)
Donna, the fabric is very nice!
Vicki, I'd probably die from stress if I sewed for others. It's a pleasant hobby, but I imagine it would be hard as a business. Kind of you to say, though!

Wow, great dress!  I love how you rotated the plaid pattern on the front vs. the sides.  The jacket looks great with the dress.

Fabulous! Love the color combination and those colors on you. Your hair is so pretty.

You look great! I really like what you have done with the plaid directional panels on the dress (she says as she thinks about some plaid fabric that has been awaiting a project...) the fuschia jacket is perfect! Fun to see you back posting :)

This is such a radiant color on you!

You look stunning in this ensemble Amy - particularly in pic #3. The textures, pattern and colour are just perfect.

  • Susie replied 10 years ago

You made that??? Wow, what awesome skills! That is beautiful and it's such a gorgeous outfit.

How beautiful.  That dress is so well made and fitted!  The colors are pretty on you.

You  look like a happy girl, Amy! The dress looks great on you, and the blazer further enhances the outfit.
