White Pants in Winter

At the Seattle meetup today, Jenava talked me into buying these BR white trousers. I wasn't confident that I could make them work in my wardrobe, so I played dress-up this evening. What do you think? Are any of these successes? Any of these do-not-repeats? Thanks in advance for your advice!

P.S. It was so much fun seeing many of you today!

P.P.S. I'll try not to be such a stranger on the forum. I realized how much I miss all of you today :)

P.P.P.S. I ordered the Sam Edelman snakeskin booties recommended by Angie, so they'll help make white trousers outfits a little more cozy for the cold and the wet.

Clever Jenava. I love #1 - very expensive chic looking. The others are fab too imo.

  • Mirp replied 11 years ago

    I LOVE number 1!

  • missvee replied 11 years ago

Love 1, 4, and 7. These look like beautiful trousers. There's something luxurious and decadent about wearing white in winter. They suit you very well.

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

Those are great pants. Surprisingly #7 is my favorite, and I don't usually like animal print, but I think the black and white print is gorgeous. I also like #3 a lot! They are all great outfits though.

Hi, Amy! I've been MIA around here too, of late. I was thinking about you. It's nice to see you again.

I think these are going to fit very nicely into your wardrobe - I especially love 1, 3, 4 and 7.

My only question is whether you let out the hem just a tad. what do you think?

  • Mona replied 11 years ago

Love the winter white. #1 and 2 are my favourite.

  • Vildy replied 11 years ago

6 and 7 my favorite of all. I think the hem looks right with those shoes, too. May want to check other shoes for heel height to match.

Great "dress up" session... They all look great. To me #2 was screaming for a scarf... but that's just my thing...

Amy these look amazing on you! Very glad that Jenava managed to convince you:-) I'm a huge fan of Winter white, and I have the SE snakeskin booties: they are gorgeous, very comfortable and I've no doubt they'll look amazing with your new trousers (Joy recently wore her booties with Winter white pants and looked beautiful).

  • Krista replied 11 years ago

WOW! I love all of these outfits - they are so lovely. I will live vicariously through you; I do not trust myself to own or wear a pair of white pants in winter. But these are fantastic - I'm glad you listened to Jenava! Good call, Jenava!

These all look great on you, Amy. You have great style that's both fun and sophisticated.

These look wonderful on you! I'm especially digging 1, 4, and 5. Fabulous buy!

  • Parsley replied 11 years ago

It's so good to see you here, Amy! I've thought about you, and wondered how you're doing.

I absolutely LOVE those winter white pants on you. All the looks you've put together are great, and the all-out glam looks of 1 and 7 just knock my socks off! You do a glamorous look like no other!
Great purchase. (Jenava knows her stuff) The Sam Edelman booties will be perfect with them, too.

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

So great to see you, Amy! We have missed you, your wonderful style, and your brilliant alterations advice.

I love these pants on you and especially like looks #4 and #7. Wow! They'll be super with those booties. Will you let down the hem a bit? I am with Sarah that you might need a bit more for PPL - though perhaps not with the booties.

  • replied 11 years ago

I loved all of them except numbers 3 and 5. There was something about the point at which the jacket bottom hits your body that was not as flattering as all the others.

The slacks are absolutely gorgeous and you have some amazing pieces to mix with them. You look incredibly sophisticated (numbers 1 and 2) or sexy sophisticated (numbers 6 and 7). Great find.

  • kkards replied 11 years ago

i actually tried these on yesterday, and probably would have bought them if they had the petites. they look great on you! i love 1, 2 & 4.

  • cheryle (Dianthus) replied 11 years ago

I think they are keepers. I like them best when a white element is added on the top as in 1, 4, and 6/7. I particularly like the angles and detail on #4. I think it is almost playful and adds whimsy.

The fit is nice as is the shape. Having said that, if you aren't sure, think it over a bit and play with them.

Amy - it's so so good to see you again! And congrats Jenava for convincing you to buy these. They look fantastic here and I seriously think they work in every outfit you've put together. Clearly winter white trousers will play well with your wardrobe. I agree that a bit more PPL might be required though.

  • Atlantia replied 11 years ago

I love #1 best, because you look so chic. I also like #4 and #6, I think because more of the white is echoed in the top of the outfit.

  • merwoman replied 11 years ago

Isn't it wonderful shopping with friends! They so often give us that little nudge to try something unexpected!
These pants look amazing on you! I especially like pic 1 - you look so elegantly chic - yet approachable. Perhaps you are on your way to your villa for a weekend of skiing....

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

You know how I feel about WW trousers :)

#1, #2 and #6 work best to my eye. Well done!

  • Janet replied 11 years ago

So great to see you again!

I love love love #1, and 6 is great too. I agree with Sarah that perhaps they could be a touch longer -- is there some hem allowance? I'm really hyper-aware of PPL in light colored pants.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Thanks ladies! It's great to "see" all of you too. There's a substantial hem in these, so I could let them out. I'm going to wait until the booties arrive though. The heels are shorter, so I suspect these will be just right. I'm less likely to wear heels like the shoes I have on in these pictures when it's wet and slippery out :)

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

1,6,7,&8 are my favorites. After getting those SE python booties, you will love snakes!

  • christy replied 11 years ago

Amy, so good to see you yesterday! :)

These pants look beautiful on you - such a great fit! The outfits in 1/2 and 6/7 are my favorites here. 8 is my least favorite, but not quite sure why. I think I'd prefer the jacket to be a richer color - maybe more towards a blue-red than the tomato red? But I think you have some great looks here!

  • replied 11 years ago

YES they work and you can repeat all of them. Love 1/2, 4 and 6/7. You can really pull off an all white look, when I've tried I end up looking like the milk man.

  • Jenava replied 11 years ago

They are awesome! So glad you took a chance. These are much less boring that black or even grey, although the grey you got is really nice, too. (-:

I like all of these outfits. I think as long as you have some white in the top they will work. My favs of these are 1/2 (is that my ann taylor vest from the swap I see? (-;), 4, 6, 7 and 8. I'd like to see a lighter color top (maybe cream, sheer blouse?) with the dark jacket.

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

    I like 8, it's so exuberant.

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Yep, Jenava, that's your furry vest :)
