Two Red and Black Outfits

When in doubt, go for a favorite color combo, right? Right now, I'm turning to old favorites for comfort...and I've been needing a lot of it lately. My father is currently in the hospital and has been diagnosed with bone/lung/everything cancer and the prognosis is not good. I'm hanging together by a thread and have been very thankful to have YLF for distraction.

And on that cheerful note...sorry to unload.

I'm so sorry to hear of your hard times, Amy. No need to apologize, sometimes life is hard and that's just the way it is.
You look totally fab in both pictures. Sometimes it helps to 'look' put together even when everything seems to be going wrong. I will pray for you and your family tonight.

So sorry to hear your father is ill, and yes, sometimes pulling out a bright sweater or a lovely dress can be a welcome distraction. The little routines of the day can be so comforting.

You look wonderful. Didn't you make the dress?

Super cute outfits, Amy. I LOVE that dress in #2.

Sending you love and hugs (and to your family, too) as you face your father's diagnosis. I know how scary and difficult it is to have someone you love face illness. Be kind to yourself during this time. You need love, too. :)

I'm really sorry to hear about your Dad. I know how devastating this is, having gone through it myself. I hope he is comfortable.

  • mrseccentric replied 12 years ago

aw, Amy, i am so very sorry for you and your family. I've noticed, both as a visitor and patient, that sprucing up some to go to the hospital is very welcome. You don't realize how boring the visual landscape is in a hospital until you've been in the same room a week. Wearing something flattering and colorful, making yourself up so you look fresh and healthy, really provides a nice lift. It's a good distraction, as you say, but it's also some very welcome novelty and happy healthiness for the person in the hospital.

Big hugs to you, and thank you for taking the time to check in with us! steph

Sorry to hear your news Amy and offering my positive vibes and thoughts as you deal with this news. Of course YLF is a place to unwind, unload and gain some strength.

That is one of my favorite color combinations - red is a powerful color and might bring a smile when you least expect it.
