Scarf or Belt, Both or None?

What do you think?

(My husband was in the background teasing me, hence the goofy expressions.)

I vote for both or the belt alone. The outfit definitely benefits from a shot of red, but the scarf by itself throws the outfit off balance to my eye.

I love this with just the belt Amy - adds a pop of colour but doesn't distract from the simple beauty of the outfit. Silly hubby!

I like it best with just the belt - for some reason the scarf doesn't seem quite right to me. But with the belt alone, this is pure perfection. More inspiration from fab Amy! :) I think we have fairly similar dress codes and I love your style, so I always seem to be able to get inspired by your posts!

My sweetie teases me too when I take pictures! :)

Hubs gives you a cute grin for us! I like the belt by itself for simplicity's sake. It's the right amount of color.

Hmm, I seem to be alone in liking the scarf, but I like either it or the belt, but not so much both.

I really like what the scarf color does for your complexion, but I'm not in love with that particular scarf. I might wear a bulkier, longer scarf by itself. I think the belt looks nice alone....do you have a red bag or something else red you can add?

Love just the belt. Love the goofy grin.

  • Sveta replied 12 years ago

Out of these three I prefer the last one - with the belt only. You can also try to put belt over the open cardi for a bit different look.

Hm--I actually like both together, and the belt alone second. I like the way the belt defines your waist. I think the scarf could work alone if you buttoned the center buttons on the cardigan, creating the waist look.

Belt and a big smile, please! :-D

Love this, Amy! Actually, I like the scarf alone best, but what about going full-out retro and tying it to the side? Or, alternativey, knotting it in front and tying in back? Seems like I'm the minority viewpoint, here, and you look great in any case -- just my unfiltered thoughts!

    Only belt...like in 3

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Hm, I say either or, but not both. My hubs makes me laugh at picture time, too. :)

  • Kiwichik replied 12 years ago

I vote belt and red bag if you have one.

  • lyn67 replied 12 years ago

I like the last one the best, great outfit for work!++

  • cjh replied 12 years ago

I was going to suggest as Beth Ann does, tying the scarf a bit tighter and to the side, French gamin style. And put the belt on the outside of the cardi? But I do like both together.

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. This is helpful to me!

  • Ana replied 12 years ago

I like either the scarf or the belt, but maybe not both together. And I love Beth Ann's suggestion of tying it a little tighter and off to the side. Great outfit, Amy! I love the cheetah.

  • citygirldc replied 12 years ago

    Belt looks better on you.

  • Amy replied 12 years ago

    Thanks, Ana & citygirldc!

I like it with a belt for sure! I also like the idea of a scarf teamed with the belt but maybe not that particular scarf. A patterned one might be nice. This one seems a little too see through.

  • Mona replied 12 years ago

I like the colour around your face. so yes for scarf but like in one of the comments above tie it to the side.

  • Jonesy replied 12 years ago

The belt by a mile! Something about that scarf doesn't seem quite right.
