Layers and then some

I'm not sure how I feel about this experiment. It started out as an attempt to copy that district of chic outfit I posted about yesterday, but the layered top wasn't short enough, so I tucked it in. My office is really cold, so I threw on the jacket at the last minute.

I wanted to wear my booties and wasn't going to be denied by pants that were too short. I'm such a rule-breaker.

There wasn't enough time to edit, which probably would have been a good thing.

I'm loving it, Amy. Those blue booties with the sweater are amazing. And I love the slightly masculine vibe of the whole thing.

Amy - I'm so glad you're posting again!

I think this works really well.. The blue booties bookending the blue sweater is brilliant and I like the fit of your trousers and jacket - very streamlined.

I love the blue against the black, and the fit of this suit on you!

Three cheers for Amy, she's posting again!

I love this outfit and the booties are too cute for words.

I've always been a sucker for black and blue. I think its a great attempt - more an inspiration that a copy but it still works. I probably would not have noticed the pant length had you not mentioned it.

I think it looks great! I love the blue booties.

The cobalt booties look wonderful with the black suit, Amy, and I love the combo of the white shirt with the blue top under your blazer. It looks like the top has a bit of sparkle in it, a fun bit of bling for the office.
Although this isn't the look yesterday's blogger was sporting, this works well as is. How does it look with the top untucked underneath the blazer (but with the shirt tucked in), could that be another option?

    Thanks, Ladies!

Inge, I had it untucked earlier, but it's longer than my jacket and looked a bit sloppy.

Happy to see you posting, Amy! Love cobalts with blacks on you, and wow... your booties really pop! I have my eyes on some cobalt pumps, too-but just couldn't decide yet! It's so different and fashion forward, for me!

Thanks, lyn. You should get those shoes! Every time I wear these blue booties, people fawn over them. Blue shoes are a lot of fun.

The blue shoes make the outfit! You did really well - a 10 :)

  • Amy replied 11 years ago

Thank you Angie. That makes my day!

Are those blue shoes? How fab is that? Especially with that sweater, what a fun outfit!
