01/12/12 - When in Doubt, Wear Black and White

Hi everyone!

One of my New Year's Resolutions was to take more photos of outfits this year so I could develop a better sense of what outfits work out best for me. Yesterday, I took the silly route and used Miss Marple as my fashion role model. Today, I'm defaulting to one of my stand-by color combinations: black and white with a pop of red.

Top: thrifted Cable & Gauge
Pants: Ann Taylor Broken Tweed Signature Trousers)
Shoes: Crown Vintage
Scarf: Made by me from a square of chiffon. I tied it in a french knot.
Earrings: faux pearl dangles.

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment!

You look very chic! I'm with you about a return to B&W -- it's sort of like coming home, and I always feel quite sophisticated ;-)

    Nice pop of red too!

Ohmygosh, so cute, Amy! I love the red kerchief tied around your neck. I think that really makes the outfit. You look great!

This is so parisian chic! Love the sheen in the trousers and the perfect pop of red. It really looks like the effortless style that those gorgeous French women have. Voila!

I love the polished elegance of this. And I'm also a HUGE fan of black and white with a pop of red..

Thanks ladies! I always feel like a bit of French flair has rubbed off on me when I use this knot for my scarves. Oxfords and tweed pants, though, put me in mind of Britain. Fashion-wise, I think I'm stuck in the Chunnel, LOL!

Sorry I missed this yesterday Amy - you can never go wrong with black & white. This outfit is so simply chic - love the pop of red and the detail on the sweater. Angie is going to love your PPL! I would wear this in a heartbeat!

You look great. But it isn't just black and white, it is a really interesting and lovely shirt and a happy color scarf. Wonderful.

You are a strong team mate of Team Legs! You have such amazingly long gams, Amy!

Those trousers are *amazing*. And I love the scarf too. Playful, pretty, sophisticated and elegant :)

    KILLER.

(bless your heart for sporting PPL's).

  • Debora replied 12 years ago

I just knew this would get a Killer rating from Angie! So chic and one of my favorite color combinations ever! Love the touch of red with the scarf. You look so lovely, Amy!

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

Very nice. I especially like the quirkiness of the scarf going in one direction and the ties on the sweater another. It really brings out your personality (maybe because I'm getting to know how funny and fun you are, but it does translate here)

  • Karina replied 12 years ago

Love this look, and I echo everyone else: that red scarf adds so much to the overall vibe!
